Incentives

Designated as a state and federal enterprise community, with Foreign Trade Zone #246, Triple Freeport sites, two developed Industrial Parks, Tax Abatements, and more, Waco offers aggressive incentives for economic development. The City of Waco, McLennan County and McLennan County Community College have adopted aggressive policies for property tax abatement for real and personal property. Additionally, the Waco-McLennan County Economic Development Corporation offers incentives for land, infrastructure, training, and employees on a project-by-project basis. Further, the Waco Industrial Foundation provides assistance through site acquisition, financing and/or build-to-suit facilities locating in the Texas Central Industrial District or the Waco International Aviation Park. Qualification for the aforementioned incentives is dependent upon the amount of the investment and the number of jobs created with a minimum hourly wage of $12.00.

Our Incentives Can’t Be Beat

  • The City of Waco and McLennan County offer property tax abatement policies for real and personal property (equipment) based on the amount of investment and new jobs created.
  • The Waco Industrial Foundation can provide assistance through site acquisition, financing and/or built-to-suit facilities for eligible projects locating in either the Texas Central Industrial District or the Texas Aeroplex Industrial Park.
  • Waco also offers additional state benefits to any new manufacturing employer approved as a Texas Enterprise Project.
  • The Waco-McLennan County Economic Development Corporation also provides financial assistance in the form of cash grants for qualified projects.
  • Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) No. 246 in Waco has three sites containing 400 available acres, including two adjacent to major airports.

Learning + Waco = A Readily Available Workforce

In addition, TSTC’s Avionics Technology program passed the rigorous requirements of the FAA, and is now a Certified Repair Station. The school’s Aircraft Pilot Training Technology students have won several prestigious awards at the national level of the Safety and Flight Evaluation Contest. All of this local knowledge means one sure thing: A built-in workforce available to suit the technological needs of any company.
